Letting the Telephone Ring

I don’t want to hear your excuses,

No, don’t want to shoulder your blame,

And I don’t want to hear about how it all went wrong,

Again and again and again.

So I’m going to let the telephone ring,

True to my lack of empathy,

True to my lack of giving a damn,

My lack of reliability.

I’m letting the telephone ring,

Because I’m tired of all the lies,

How I was wicked, cruel and lazy,

For all the years you’ve stolen from me.

I don’t want to hear your excuses,

No, don’t want to shoulder your shame,

And I don’t want to hear how it all went wrong,

Again and again and again.
