Autumn Morning

Come with the first light of morning,

Watch the mist begin to rise,

And as the sun peers over the horizon line,

Feel it warm the cheeks of your frozen face,

Lighting up an open field,

With the long shadows of trees,

Count the dewdrops on autumn branches,

Reflecting the colours of the season,

Damp grass, wet boots,

A bitter chill in the air,

Skies of clearest blue,

You can look down on the old town,

From the top of the hill,

It’s beautiful. Peaceful.

Everywhere is still, silent,

You could dance through the trees,

Kicking up the leaves,

Nobody would know you were there.
