Maybe Forever

This song was written in a dark period of my life and may sound like a suicide note, but while it is essentially about contemplating suicide it is more about being very close to the edge and then having second thoughts which stop you from going ahead with it. To die, would mean forever, so the song switches between may be forever and may be a while, the ‘while’ would be hanging on for a while longer to see if life improves. As you can see it appears I stuck around but the song is about those life and death decisions we can face in the darkest periods of our lives, the dog barking signifies the black dog saying associated with depression. The recording isn’t the best but it’s the only recording I have of this song to date, and despite the guitar strings sounding all scratchy in places I quite like the way it turned out all in all. Song from 2006, video from 2016.
